Since it was built in 1981, the East Madison Community Center has
had three additions added on, most recently in 2008 with the gym,
the multipurpose room and other amenities. What unified the
original building with the subsequent additions was their concrete
block plainness. But that has all changed.

Earlier this year, the East Madison Community Center successfully
competed for a Design for a Difference Makeover, powered by
Floor360. On October 25, EMCC unveiled its $600,000 makeover
that has united all of its additions and transformed it into a bright,
creative space. While each space has its own distinctive look, they
are united in energy and artistic style.
It’s a fitting home for a center that seeks to help children dream and
reach new heights. -- J
