Creating a Morning Ritual to
Change Your Life
When you first wake up in the morning, what is the first thing you do? Do you complain? Do you worry about the day ahead of you? Do you think about what’s not
working in your life? Or maybe your morning is a whirl wind of activity. The alarm sounds and you are off: Onto checking emails, text messages, making lunches,
finding car keys and, so on. The madness, the rush of it all — it has to STOP.
Starting your day without checking in with yourself is a waste of a precious opportunity. Each morning is a new beginning, and each sunrise brings with it an
opportunity for renewal and rejuvenation. "If the first thing you do in the morning isn’t 100 percent for you, selfishly, then the rest of your day will be spent not doing

Let me ask you... if you REALLY LOVE someone, how do you show them that love?
The most obvious answer is that you spend time with them. Well, how much time do you spend with yourself? I’m talking about real, quality time — time that is
spent GIVING to yourself.
Not only that, but you might do things to make that person feel INCREDIBLE — perhaps compliment them, tell them how much you love them, or celebrate together.
Again, how often do you take the time to compliment yourself, love yourself, and allow yourself to feel incredible? Most of us are too busy beating ourselves up —
and I am sure if you did that to someone else, you would not be in a relationship with them very long.
Doesn’t it only make sense to nurture the most important relationship you have, which is with yourself?
A morning ritual is entirely about you. This is your chance to center yourself and embrace your day instead of fleeing before it. You are what you repeatedly do
every day. You are defined by your RITUALS — what you do on a consistent basis. The truth is, you already have a morning ritual that you may not even be aware
of. It could be you wake up, drink coffee, turn on the news, check your e-mail, or visit Facebook. But, are those things really empowering you? Are they nurturing
your body, making you happier, or bringing you closer towards the vision of who you want to be? You have literally trained yourself to be this way through practice
You can close the gap and get from where you are to where you want to be. It takes alignment within yourself — and the power to unlock and unleash. Developing
a morning ritual that sets you up for opportunities and success can mean the difference between living the life of your dreams and settling for what you tolerate. If
you actually do take the time to do this every day, I guarantee you that your life will be transformed and rise to a level you have never imagined for yourself. And in
my honest opinion, NOTHING you do throughout the day is more important than doing something like this for yourself.
Give yourself this gift — you deserve it.
Ancient traditions clearly understood the power of rituals in reinforcing habits and
changing the way we see and create our reality. If you look into the life history of any
highly successful individual, you will find some form of ritual in his or her daily routine.
Some of these rituals may seem banal or eccentric, but do not be deceived by
appearances. Rituals are one of the most effective self-empowering tools freely
available at your disposal — that’s you!
How different would your life be if you were in a better mood and had a happier
disposition? According to a study by the American Psychological Association, by
creating and following a positive morning routine, your stress, depression, and anxiety
levels will start to plummet and your life satisfaction levels will begin to soar. You will
notice that you feel more motivated and your to-do list will seem less daunting.
Morning rituals provide physical benefits too. You will feel more energetic and strong.
Plus, when you use the time after you first wake up to do some body-stretching,
breathing exercises yoga, you will also enjoy better health.
When you use your morning ritual to engage in some type of centering behavior like
meditation, journaling, saying your affirmations or practicing visualization, you feel
more at one with yourself and the rest of the universe. You have this sense of inner
peace that can help you through the chaos that you may be experiencing at work, home

We live in a world where there are so many different demands on our time. One of the
biggest issues that I hear about from people is simply this: “I never have time for me!”
Your morning ritual will help you to intentionally create time for yourself, to focus on
yourself and can even improve your work
Without calm, there is no wisdom, no impulse control and no real peace of mind. We are
more likely to become emotionally reactive and unclear in our thinking. Without deep
peace of mind, we cannot be the people we are capable of being, and we cannot live
the lives we are capable of living.
Honestly, my morning ritual seems to be my secret weapon. My ritual gives me the self-
assuredness, grace and strength to cope in the face of challenges and it is what I give
